Briefing:
A natural inlet 'U' shaped area, this provides for some advanced strategic methods. Players now have the ability to use air, land, and sea units to the fullest. In the 'belly' of the looping part of the map is a vast velt of resources. This map can handle up to 8 players, and can prove quite superior when it comes to battle.

A map designed for every commander, but all must remember that only the best--solo commander or team wise--will win!

Food For Thought:

This map was pretty cool, but I had a hard time deciding what Computer AI to use. I checked into it, checked out suggestions, then decided that the AI I ended up with was the best choice. I hope it satisfies the commander looking for a challenging skirmish to whet their appetite. Also, I worked on avoiding a usual 4 corners type map. I have recently become more interested in narrow type maps because of this. Also, for you map makers out there, try putting version numbers in the readme file or in the description of the file. I have found the descriptions in the acutally map filename (especially .ufo files) to be a little distracting. Finally, lets hope for the best. Go ahead and check out 'Crimson Embrace' and may everyone have a good, long game on this new battlefield.

I played this map a couple of times in multi-player, and I tell you people have brought up some wierd strategies I had never befoer seen. I hope that means this map is good. One commander I rolled into on this map had a full line of Heavy Laser Towers, Guardians, and LLTs on his 'base straight'. Land units had a hard time, but merls and diplomats will thoroughly enjoy the encounter.

Another commander soon enough cam along to give the map a try in multi-player. This guy really favored Brawlers so my flakkers soon had their fill of the gunships. Unfortunately (since the game was unmapped) I did not know the guy had aircraft carriers clogging the waters and backing his jets up. Also, his love of berthas and vulcans eventually begin to give me a headache. The grand finale was when he destroyed all of my SDIs, then it was nuke galore. It ended when my commadner blundered into a nest of annihilators, but overall the game was good.

Next, I did come across a commander who was what I was looking for. A rusher. I don't recall exactly how I did it, but I survived the initial strike (barely). I had my original base (very small by now) but I had a pretty good sized base in the top left corner. Very secure with dragons teeth, anti-air, and the heavy laser towers and plasma batteries (learned from earlier experience). The dude eventually found the base (he was very big on peepers I noticed), so he sent his last flash rush. He shocked me how fast the guy converted 'religions' after that. He went full scale ship production (milleniums, C. Ships, you name it). Luckily, I had a few subs to hold him off and decided I would go aircraft carriers as I went for jets to soften him up a little. The game ended when Shooters found the guys energy source when I rushed him with everything I had. A well aimed nuke finished off his commander as he hastily worked on building a bertha.

Finally, I guess I can tell you about my worse losing streak here. One guy had me beaten so bad I had to stick to the water like full scale. Good thing for underwater extractors and storage, or I would have gotten killed a whole lot earlier. Archers helped me survive his brawlers for a little while, but not very long when a couple of merls began to have target practice. Oh well. The guy said it was a good game (guessed he liked beating me or something)

Well, commander. Its time to get a move on. Go pulverize the enemy with this knowledge. You should know a little for every situation by now, and if I forget to mention something yo might want to use a little closure and improvise. Go and have a great game, and may the best commander win.
